Any objections to running a straight pipe off the catalytic converter on a 2009 Suzuki Gladius?

I just need to know if it will potentially damage any parts of the machine. I don't need to hear "It will be too loud". I'm looking to run a chrome pipe in place of the muffler. It's a good sound without the muffler on, and it's cheaper than buying a "performance exhaust".
