Why do bands get so critisized for playing at certain places?

like Def Leppard played at Frontier Days in Wyoming and they got all this crap for playing where animals are abused and some animal rights group posted a commet on their website with a link of a video with all this abusive stuff in a rodeo that was supposably at the Frontier Days rodeo and most of it wasnt even there and the only stuff that was wasnt even abuse or was very minor abuse. i mean i am all against animal cruelty, but i dont think this is right. Matchbox 20 was coming to Frontier Days this year but cancelled because of rumors of animal cruility and didnt want to hurt their image. there alot of these cases with differant bands and differant places, but dont you think you should be able to play whereever you want without getting so much crap thats not even always true?
