Can somebody please tell me if someone aged 50 can get shingles?

Yes...my husband came down with Shingles at age 35. You are most susceptible having had chicken pox as a child or been exposed to the varicella virus which causes it. Age makes no difference but older are more likely to get the extremely painful condition. Shingles can attack any part of the body. My mother had shingles of the eye.
