Why in the computer age do we still need elected representatives to vote FOR us?

OMG....have you not read the blatant falsehoods people on this forum believe, regardless of their party?....and you want these same people, who get their entire information intake from whichever source tells them what they want to hear, to vote on each bill in congress..........WOW
